Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Galaxy A51 lags compared to top-tier phones such as the Galaxy S20. That's because Apple gave the iPhone SE the same A13 Bionic chipset as its most expensive iPhone 11. The iPhone SE also leapfrogs the A51 when it comes to water resistance and wireless charging, both features that Samsung's cheaper phone lacks.
Pros
- Slim bezels
- Good battery life
- Fast charging
Cons
- No water resistance
- No wireless charging
digitaltrends[2]
Reviewer score 55% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a 48-megapixel main sensor, and in well-lit environments, photos look great. You'll get a good amount of detail, and while photos aren't as deep as those taken with the iPhone 11 Pro and Pixel 4, they're still vivid. There's no native way to remap the Bixby shortcut to another assistant. The warranty on the phone is a pretty standard 1-year deal for manufacturer defects.
Pros
- Great display
- Decent camera performance
- Good battery life
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No IP rating

Reviewer score 59% (normalized by Neofiliac)In low light, the primary camera captured very good colours, and details were fairly well represented with not a lot of noise. There's a dedicated Night mode, but we didn't find it to make a significant difference compared to shots taken in the standard photo mode. Live-focus mode blurs out backgrounds for a more dramatic look. Samsung has only launched the 6GB variant in India, priced at Rs. 23,999.
Pros
- Slim bezels
- Good battery life
- Good cameras
Cons
- Underwhelming performance
- Underwhelming battery life

Reviewer score 55% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Galaxy A51 works very well in everyday use and deals well with multi-tasking. The response times might be too slow for hardcore gamers, but casual gamers should be happy with them. While the smartphone does not seem slow when browsing during everyday use, the difference in speed compared to the fastest devices in this price range is noticeable.
Pros
- High-quality AMOLED display
- Good battery life
- Decent cameras
Cons
- Slow SoC
- Slow Wi-Fi
pcmag[5]
Reviewer score 57% (normalized by Neofiliac)In daylight testing, nearly all of our shots looked crisp, with excellent depth of field. On the front, you'll find a 32MP wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture. The Galaxy A51 is powered by a 4,00mAh battery that can easily get you through the day.
Pros
- Gorgeous AMOLED display
- Solid performance in low light
- Long battery life
Cons
- Mediocre cameras
- No wireless charging
t3[6]
Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Galaxy A51 is one of the best handsets on the market. Unusually for budget devices, the phone sports a penta-camera setup. The rear quad-camera array has 48MP wide-angle, 12MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro and 5MP depth lenses. The camera array supports up to 8x digital zoom, but you'll never use this to its fullest extent.
Pros
- Gorgeous Super AMOLED display
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- No headphone jack
- Single speaker
techadvisor[7]
Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Galaxy A51 is a mid-range smartphone from Samsung. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor, but it's very hit and miss. The camera is superb, but the lack of a telephoto lens is a big omission. 4GB of RAM isn't enough to power the phone, particularly when combined with an average processor.
Pros
- Gorgeous 1080p display
- Great battery life
- Great cameras
Cons
- In-display fingerprint sensor isn’t great
- No telephoto lens
techradar[8]
Reviewer score 45% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a 4,000mAh battery, which is about as low a capacity as we are comfortable with in a phone with a 6.5-inch screen. Its OLED screen is colorful, contrast is ultra-high, and Samsung's software looks good. One important part of the A51 is below average at the price, though: performance. It makes Android feel a little slow, more so than usual app load discrepancy between a good affordable phone and a top-end one.
Pros
- Bright OLED screen
- Good battery life
- Decent cameras
Cons
- Poor low-light camera performance
- No wireless charging
theverge[9]
Reviewer score 57% (normalized by Neofiliac), but this A51 uses a Samsung Exynos 9611, a midrange chip that isn't quite up to the task of making this phone feel snappy. Apps take a long time to load — especially if they haven't been opened recently and so aren't already active in the 4GB of RAM. Battery life is okay, but it doesn't quite hit Samsung's claim that it's “long-lasting.
Pros
- Gorgeous screen
- Great battery life
- Good cameras
Cons
- No wireless charging
- Unimpressive camera system
tomsguide[10]
Reviewer score 46% (normalized by Neofiliac)Samsung has shoehorned a 4,000-mAh battery into the Galaxy A51. The A51's longevity isn't awful, though, much like its general performance, it's not nearly as impressive as you'd hope it to be. Rather than use a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, the A51 incorporates an in-display optical scanner.
Pros
- Gorgeous display
- Great battery life
- Decent cameras
Cons
- Battery life could be better
- No 128GB storage
trustedreviews[11]
Reviewer score 45% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Galaxy A51 has a 4000mAh battery, and this is a good size which is comparable to flagships even within Samsung’s own stable, including the Samsung Galaxy S20 itself. I found the battery life to be running out sooner than I’d anticipated, and given this generous capacity, this might be down to an inefficient chip. The cluster includes a 48-megapixel main wide-angle camera, a 12- megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 5-Megapixel macro camera, and a 5 megapixel depth sensor. The ultrawide lens gives you another option to shoot with, and it certainly does increase the field of view significantly. But with this comes significant distortion around the edges (for example the stems in the right side of the above image, which appear stretched)
Pros
- Decent camera performance
- Decent battery life
- Good value for money
Cons
- Mediocre performance
- Unreliable processor
wired[12]
Reviewer score 51% (normalized by Neofiliac)Once you get past this sluggish performance, the rest of the A51 is solid. The highlight is the 6.5-inch OLED screen, which is bright enough to read in sunny conditions. Samsung is promising that it will keep the software updates flowing onto the A 51 for three years.
Pros
- Solid performance
- Solid battery life
- Good camera
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No headphone jack
