Product Overview

AirPods Pro enhances Apple's AirPods by incorporating Active Noise Cancellation as well as an all-new in-ear design.
Each earbud comes with three sizes of silicone ear tips to accommodate different contours of each individual ear by providing comfort and superior seal.
Active Noise Cancellation on AirPods Pro uses two microphones for noise cancellation. The first microphone is outward-facing and detects external sound, while the second inward-facing microphone listens toward the ear to cancel remaining noise.

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The AirPods Pro offer the option to either shut noise out or let it all in. Apple calls the latter feature “Transparency Mode,” and its an apt title. More impressive than Apple's transparency mode is how well its noise-canceling tech works.
Pros
  • Impressive noise canceling
  • Great battery life
  • Comfortable fit
Cons
  • No Google Assistant support

laptopmag[2]

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
The AirPods Pro employ Bluetooth 5, the latest standard, which offers fast transfer speeds, longer battery life and a theoretical range of up to 800 feet. Other wireless, noise-cancelling earbuds last for several hours longer on a charge. The new sweat-proof design looks better and fits more securely your ear, and the highlight feature — active noise cancellation — has been improved.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Comfortable fit
  • Strong battery life
Cons
  • No wireless charging

nextpit[3]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from nextpit have found:
AirPods Pro are more comfortable with an Apple product. With the help of the Apple ID it is easy to connect the Airpods to other Apple products without a new pairing process. The sound of the AirPods is truly impressive in all three modes. With Queens Bohemian Rhapsody, Freddy Mercury was able to give me goosebumps.
Pros
  • Excellent noise cancellation
  • Long battery life
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No transparency mode

notebookcheck[4]

Reviewer score 64% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
Apple's latest earbuds are just as well built as the last, with the AirPods Pro also being made from plastic. Apple includes three rubber ear tips in the box, which should provide a good fit for all sizes of ears. They sound flat compared to over-ear headphones like the B&W P7. While we have praised the speakers of Apple's other Pro-branded products like the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro, audiophiles were underwhelmed by the audio equality.
Pros
  • Good sound quality
  • Comfortable to wear
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • Sound quality could be better

pcmag[5]

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The AirPods Pro do an excellent job of tamping down keyboard clicks and even nearby music and office chatter. They take out a solid amount of low-frequency rumble, making them ideal for planes and trains. We can detect a very slight hiss when the ANC is enabled, which is common. The voice mic offers above-average intelligibility.
Pros
  • Sleek, stylish design
  • Excellent noise cancellation
  • Solid audio performance
Cons
  • Noise cancellation isn't as good as the standard AirPods

rtings[6]

Reviewer score 50% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Apple AirPods Pro are decent for neutral sound. They have a flat and neutral sound profile that's well-suited for a variety of audio content. Their low bass is a bit underemphasized, so mixes lack thump and rumble. Their passive soundstage also seems small and closed-off due to their in-ear fit.
Pros
  • Comfortable and lightweight design
  • Great ANC feature
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Mediocre passive soundstage
  • No stability fins

t3[7]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
Apple's ANC is really good, cutting back city-centre traffic to just a murmur in the background. It's not as effective as top-tier over-ear headphones such as the Sony WH-1000XM4 or Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700. You can switch between Noise Cancellation mode and Transparency Mode by squeezing one of the AirPods Pro's protruding arms for a moment.
Pros
  • Excellent noise cancellation
  • Great fit
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • Noise cancellation isn’t as effective as Apple’s

techradar[8]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The AirPods Pro now come with a Spatial Audio feature thanks to a firmware update. This brings Dolby Atmos immersive audio to the true wireless earbuds. The charging case is slightly annoying in that it's hard to know how much juice is left in it. Apple has unhelpfully put a USB-C-to-Lightning cable in there.
Pros
  • Great sound quality
  • Spatial Audio feature works in 5.1, Atmos, and Dolby Atmos
Cons
  • Charging case is a little stingy

trustedreviews[9]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
AirPods Pro look very much like the original AirPods, but also very different. The charging case remains a glossy puck but it’s now wider and squatter – like you’ve turned the original case on its head. The biggest difference is the in-ear design, the Pros delve down right inside your ear. They have silicone tips at the end which come in three sizes: small, medium and large.
Pros
  • Excellent noise cancellation
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • In-ear design is fiddly
  • Noise cancellation isn’t great

whathifi[10]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
Apple's AirPods Pros can't quite match the best-in-class noise-cancelling headphones for sound quality, but still make them a very strong option in the category. Apple has created a pair of non-isolating earphones that's well suited to a long-haul flight. For many they could be the only pair of headphones they ever need.
Pros
  • Superb noise-cancelling
  • Impressive battery life
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Noise cancelling is a bit slow

wired[11]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from wired have found:
Thanks in large part to the ear tips, the AirPods Pro sound a lot more pleasant. At $250, they're a touch more expensive than most other models, but it's hard to harp on Apple for that. They offer only 4.5 hours of battery life with noise canceling on.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent noise canceling
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • No transparency feature
  • Only 4.5 hours of battery life
