Product Overview

Ford Fiesta 7 is an entry-level subcompact hatchback in production from 2017 to 2020, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 1.5 liters.
Compared to the Fiesta 6, Ford made little efforts in improving the design of the vehicle. The main differences involve downsized engines and more gears in the DCT. The mild-hybrid drivetrain enables new efficiency features, though the difference is, as the name suggests, mild.
Ford has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.28 coefficient of drag to show for it. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Another plus is the small 9.8m (32.1ft) turning circle.

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
There’s plenty of urgency, plenty of character and, in spite of the torque, a likeable willingness to rev. The Fiesta ST feels a shade more precise in its steering response than the last one did. On a trailing throttle, the Fiesta ST can be teased into easily tamed oversteer more dependably and willingly than any other hot supermini. Its handling balance and adjustability remain truly exceptional.

Pros
  • Superb handling
  • Superb infotainment system
  • Fantastic handling
Cons
  • Nothing in particular

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
The Fiesta ST has yet another trick up its sleeve, but it’s difficult to pin down exactly what it is. The electromechanical steering is unusually quick, with a ratio of 12:1. On rougher road surfaces the chassis can become flighty and a bit erratic. In ST-3 form and with the box for £850 Performance Pack vigorously ticked.

Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Impressive handling
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Not as fast as its predecessor

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
As a top-of-the-range ST-3, our car comes loaded with kit. As standard it gets 18in five-spoke wheels with a two-tone machined finish. It also has part-leather Recaro seats, a rear view camera and keyless entry. There’s also an 8.0in touchscreen with Sync3 infotainment.

Pros
  • Top-of-the-range performance
  • Top-spec interior
Cons
  • Driving modes are contrived
  • Noisy engine

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
There will only be 600 of these UK-specific versions of the Fiesta ST. The Performance Edition adds flow-formed 18in alloy wheels which are said to be 7kg lighter and throws on standard orange paint. The powertrain is left alone; a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol making 197bhp and driving the front wheels through a six-speed manual.

Pros
  • Fantastic engine
  • Excellent handling
  • Excellent suspension
Cons
  • Pricier than the ST-3 with Performance Pack
  • No automatic gearbox

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
Ford has upgraded the ST-Line’s chassis so it more deservedly sits between the standard line-up and the top variant. The underlying structure is 14% stiffer than the old car's, thanks to the use of more bracing in key areas. The new Fiesta is a much nicer place in which to sit compared with its predecessor.

Pros
  • Cheap to insure
  • Lots of fun to drive
Cons
  • No automatic gearbox
  • No infotainment system

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The Ford really comes into its own with the ride. It's better to drive, but also more comfortable than the SEAT. Interior quality is good, yet it's here where the Ibiza makes up ground. Zetec trim brings air-conditioning, lane keep and a 6.5-inch touchscreen with smartphone tech.

Pros
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good range of kit
Cons
  • Poor performance
  • Not as fun to drive

Gone is the old car's 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo engine and replaced by a downsized 1.5. It packs 197bhp and 290Nm of torque (with an overboost to deliver an extra 20Nm) Ford claims a very reasonable 47.1mpg, too. A limited slip differential is available for the first time on the Fiesta ST.

Pros
  • Punchy, punchy engine
  • Fantastic infotainment
Cons
  • Not as agile as rivals

The M-Sport rally team has been running Fords in the WRC since 1997. This year it's competing with a Fiesta WRC. The model starring on stages around the globe doesn't have much in common with our road car, apart from a few visual similarities. But once you get on the road in our Ford, it makes you feel like a rally driver.

Pros
  • Punchy engine

Cons
  • Not as fun as a road car

A sensible set of upgrades for the already excellent Ford Fiesta ST. Mountune's latest range of options enhance the car's dynamics without drastically altering its personality. They make it even more fun to drive, although the ride quality does suffer. Beware, however, that some parts may affect your existing manufacturer warranty.

Pros
  • Fantastic new Quickshift gearchange
  • Lots of fun to drive
Cons
  • Rear springs feel a bit stiff
  • Some parts may affect warranty

The Ford Fiesta ST is the best car in its class. But the firm wasn't content with that, so it's enhanced what its junior hot hatch offers with this very bright Fiesta ST Performance Edition. Orange is the only colour available, and alongside the new paint job this even-hotter ST benefits from a new suspension set-up and lighter alloy wheels, which save 7kg from the car's kerbweight.

Pros
  • Superb handling
  • Impressive infotainment system
Cons
  • No three-door option
