Samyang AF 24mm F1.8 is a full-frame, autofocus, wide-angle prime lens for Sony's E-mount mirrorless system. It joins two other recent compact Samyang primes, the AF 35mm F1.8 and AF 75mm F1.8, with the same filter size and diameter.
The AF 24mm F1.8 weighs just a hair heavier than its 35mm brother. This makes carrying it around all day an easy proposition. The 24mm focal length is versatile indoors and outdoors: it offers a large field of view without the complications of unnatural perspectives of ultra-wide lenses that require extra attention from the photographer.
On an APSC camera, this lens gives a 35mm-equivalent field of view that is great for street, portrait, and general photography.
Thanks to the new Stepping Motor (STM) focus motor, the AF 24mm F1.8 offers quiet and accurate autofocus. It is not only a capable lens for photography but also a great option for videography and vlogging. Like most other recent Samyang lenses, the AF 24mm F1.8 is weather sealed.
