Product Overview

Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 RF is a full-frame, ultra-wide-angle, autofocus prime lens for Canon's RF-mount mirrorless system. It is the first third-party autofocus lens for the RF-mount, and it remains the widest autofocus prime lens for Canon's new mirrorless system.
While one may assume the AF 14mm F2.8 RF to be a new version of the AF 14mm F2.8 FE released from 2016, it actually uses an updated optical design. Like the FE lens, the AF 14mm F2.8 RF is optimized for mirrorless cameras, thanks to its compact and lightweight nature.
With the updated optical formula, the RF lens now adds one high reflective lens. This design should offer improved suppression of lens abberations.
Due to the bulbous front element, the AF 14mm F2.8 RF cannot take a front filter. Nonetheless, a rear filter holder is included. Samyang has also included weather sealing for give photographers peace of mind when shooting outdoors.

lens is a little bit soft at F2.8, but sharpness increase progressively to reach its max at F11. Vignetting is important and can be seen at all apertures. Chromatic aberrations are present but Lightroom profile is correcting vignetting and CA very adequately. Even in MF mode you hear the motor as this one is not decoupled when you switch to MF.
