Tokina SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF is a full-frame super telephoto lens with a catadioptric (mirrored) design with a constant f/8 aperture. It offers one of the most compact package for a 400mm lens.
The compact design makes the SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF a great option for travel photography. It is also an affordable option to access this focal length. With a short minimum focusing distance, this lens is also a great option for nature photography, providing a unique perspective that cannot be replicated with a shorter lens.
The lens is, however, manual focus only, making it difficult for sports photography.
Tokina also sells the SZX SUPER TELE 400mm F8 Reflex MF as a kit with Tokina's mount adapters for Nikon F-mount, Canon EF-mount, Sony E-mount, Fujifilm X-mount, and Micro Four Thirds mount.
In early 2021, Tokina further released this lens for the new mirrorless camera mounts by Canon and Nikon.
