Product Overview
Amphion Argon5C is a center channel loudspeaker in Amphion's mid-level Argon series designed for home theatre applications. Sharing the same dimensions and design with the lower-priced Helium520C, the Argon5C switches the latter's paper woofers for aluminum units.
The Argon series loudspeakers employ design and technologies from the company's professional studio monitor line: While the smaller bookshelf and the center channel speakers use traditional vented design, the larger models feature rear-firing passive radiators that avoid common issues associated with bass reflex designs and make placement easier.
Like other Amphion loudspeakers, a 1600Hz crossover is chosen to allow the tweeter and the woofer(s) work as a single point source. The specifically designed waveguide reduces the "sweet spot" effect.
The Argon series also include three bookshelf speakers, Argon0, Argon1, and Argon3S, and two floorstanders, Argon3LS and Argon7LS.
