Product Overview
Sennheiser HD 560S are mid-range dynamic, over-the-ear headphones with an open design for a broad soundstage. Designed for those who appreciate the finer details in sound, the HD 560S' transducers are specifically tuned for accuracy, offering dependable A/B comparisons of mixes, sources, and media formats.
The HD 560S's open-back earcups facilitate a natural expansion of sound waves, while their angled alignment recreates the optimal triangular listening position of loudspeakers for a wide, articulate soundstage. They reproduce the entire frequency range (6 to 38k Hz) with honesty, complemented by gratifying and smooth low-frequency extension.
The open, over-the-ear design also makes wearing more comfortable. Together with the velour earpads, the headphones make long listening sessions a joy.

Reviewer score 48%The Sennheiser HD 560S are great for neutral sound. While they're slightly lacking in low-bass, most mixes should still have adequate body and warmth. Vocals and lead instruments are present, detailed, and clear in the mix. They have a decently immersive soundstage, too.

- Decently immersive soundstage
- Great stereo imaging performance
- Comfortable and stable fit
- Well-balanced sound profile
Cons
- Bulky and bulky design
- No on-board controls
techradar[2]
Reviewer score 76%Sennheiser HD 560S are very carefully tuned to assist in comparative listening, in mixing, in DJing or similarly work-orientated applications. There's a relative lack of dynamism and animation to the sound they make – which renders them, yes, rather analytical. Tonally, the Sennheisers are as balanced as a tightrope walker. Bass is deep and textured, with scant overhang and reasonable momentum. At the opposite end of the frequency range the treble sounds are absolutely loaded with detail.

Pros
- Impressive sound quality
- Excellent build quality
- Comfortable, secure fit
Cons
- Nothing in particular

Reviewer score 73%The Sennheiser HD 560S are a very comfortable set of cans. The headband offers a tight and firm grip without applying too much pressure. An unfortunate but unavoidable consequence of the open-back design is some sound bleed when listening, particularly at higher volumes. At 120 ohms, there’s also plenty of room for an amplifier to add some extra oomph to the delivery.

Pros
- Comfortable fit
- Excellent detail
Cons
- Some sound bleed at higher volumes
- Not the most sociable listen

Headband is plastic and the sliding mechanism clicks when adjusting them to fit, but it isn't noisy during use. 120ohm drive unit with specialised polymer-blend diaphragm aims to reproduce deep bass notes and treble with both clarity and control.
