Product Overview

Panasonic LUMIX DC-G100 is a micro-four-thirds interchangeable-lens mirrorless camera specially designed for vloggers and content creators with a compact and lightweight body. The G100 records high quality 4K or FHD videos, thanks to its 20.3MP CMOS sensor without low pass filter and its powerful 5-axis hybrid image staiblization.
The G100 also has a Frame Marker feature, which helps the vlogger keep track of framing for social media. Three internal microphones together record clear and vibrant sound with accuracy and precision in an OZO Audio by Nokia setup.
For advanced videographers, the G100 supports V-Log L recording.
The DC-G100 starts at 590 GBP. With a 12-32mm kit lens, the G100K costs 90 pounds more. The G100V comes with both the 12-32mm kit lens and a Panasonic DMW-SHGR1 tripod grip for 720 GBP.

cameralabs[1]

Reviewer score 72%
Reviewers from cameralabs have found the following***:
The Panasonic Lumix G100 is one of the most compact mirrorless cameras around. It packs a decent feature-set with a built-in viewfinder, external mic input and a clever built-In three-mic system. Panasonic may be pitching it primarily at vloggers, but it also makes for a very nice compact general-purpose camera that can take different lenses.

Pros
  • Excellent autofocus
  • Full-articulated side-hinged screen
  • Built-in viewfinder
Cons
  • Not as confident as rivals
  • Not as flexible as rivals

dpreview[2]

Reviewer score 58%
Reviewers from dpreview have found the following***:
Clear Retouch allows users to remove distracting elements from the frame in-camera. In selfie-mode the G100 gives the option to apply skin smoothing, facial slimming and automatic background defocus while shooting. If you are planning to use the camera for capturing 'walk-and-talk' footage and combine it with video sequences, that wandering autofocus will likely be a dealbreaker.

Pros
  • Excellent autofocus
  • Very compact body
  • Good audio tracking
Cons
  • Lack of mic input
  • No headphone input

rtings[3]

Reviewer score 29%
Reviewers from rtings have found the following***:
The Panasonic LUMIX G100 is great for landscape photography. It's small and lightweight, so it's easy to take with you to remote shooting locations. Video quality is good overall, but especially in brighter lighting conditions. Its battery life is disappointing, and it does a poor job of stabilizing images without a tripod.

  • Excellent JPEG image quality
  • Small and lightweight
  • Great dynamic range
  • Very portable
  • Compact, lightweight design
  • Good image quality, especially in landscape shots

techradar[4]

Reviewer score 75%
Reviewers from techradar have found the following***:
Panasonic G100 uses the same sensor as its predecessor. Video is smooth, with good colors and plenty of detail. Images are still usable at relatively small sizes at high ISO speeds up to 12800. Sound quality stands above other in-built microphones by quite some way. It's not news for vloggers who like to record videos of themselves.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Good image quality
  • 4K Photo functionality
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Not ideal for vloggers

trustedreviews[5]

Reviewer score 75%
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found the following***:
20.3MP Live MOS sensor is more than capable of capturing detailed stills pictures with punchy colours. A 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens with Optical Image Stabilisation comes in the box. OZO Audio gives the G100 a clever 3-way audio recording function that combines with visual detection software to direct its microphones towards the person speaking.

Pros
  • 4K video recording
  • 5-axis Hybrid image stabilisation
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No headphone jack
