Product Overview

The fourth-generation Ford Escape is a stylish yet practical compact crossover. Debuted in 2005 as the world's first hybrid crossover, the 4th-gen Escape brings back a full hybrid and a plug-in hybrid. Further features include more advanced driver-assist functionalities and enhanced connectivity.
Powered by one of two EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engines (inline-3 or inline-4) or Duratec engines running on the Atkinson- cycle (in the hybrid versions), the Ford Escape achieves high fuel efficiency and low emissions. The Ford Escape PHEV is rated by EPA at industry-leading 100 MPGe.
New for 2020, the sliding second-row seats in EcoBoost-powered models offer best-in-class legroom and voluminous cargo room all in one vehicle.
Ford Co-Pilot360 and FordPass Connect are among the long list of standard equipment. The former includes a range of driver-assist features, while FordPass Connect provides 4G LTE WiFi for up to 10 mobile devices.

Ride comfort is big with buyers, and no matter what's on the ground, the Escape is a softie at heart. Sync 3 is standard on all but the base Escape S, living on an 8-inch touchscreen in the center of the dashboard. Adaptive cruise control is merely the cherry on top of a sundae of standard safety systems.

The Escape Hybrid's drivetrain is nicely refined, with near-seamless engine refires when switching between gasoline and electric power. Ford says you can cruise on electric power alone at speeds up to 85 miles per hour. The Escape Hybrid is surefooted while cornering, with an excellent ride quality.

Reviewers from digitaltrends have found the following***:
The 2020 Ford Escape aims to soften the blow of Ford's car culling, but first it needs to prove that its better than the legions of other compact crossovers on sale today. We liked all three Escape powertrains we sampled, but we think the hybrid offers the best balance of power and fuel efficiency. Ford offers a three-year, 36,000-mile, bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Pros
  • Powerful hybrid powertrain
  • Comfortable ride

Cons
