Product Overview

BMW X6 G06 is a mid-size crossover in production from 2019. It is available with a range of inline-6 and V8 engines that displaced 3.0 to 4.4 liters.
Compared to the G05 X5 on which it is based, the X6 is an uglier, hunchback variant with reduced practicality and inflated price.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the BMW X6 (G06) comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. This is a bit unusual for AWD and less tunable than a multi-link front setup, but what you lose in performance you gain in durability.

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
BMW's latest X6 is a competitive SUV coupe. Its driving characteristics and equipment are towards the top of the class and it performs well too. Diesel versions still make the most sense in terms of running costs and drive well. Thanks to a larger cabin than before, interior practicality is good too.

Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good range of engines
Cons
  • Not quite as fun to drive as rivals
  • No seven-seat option

autoexpress[2]

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The X6 was the first SUV from a mainstream manufacturer to adopt an unconventional, sportier silhouette. Under the coupe-styled bodywork, it's little more than a rebodied X5. The M50i model uses a turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 producing 523bhp and 750Nm torque. It sends power to an xDrive all-wheel drive set-up through an eight-speed automatic gearbox with wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Stylish styling
Cons
  • Not as practical as X5
  • Lack of standard infotainment

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The BMW X6 is a car that splits opinion straight down the middle. From a practicality perspective, it makes little sense beside the X5 on which it's based. Yet it carries credence for the kind of customer for whom there is – or was – nothing else quite like it. As the X6 has evolved, so has its styling. This new redesigned version has become, shock horror, slightly more subtle in its outlook.

Pros
  • Better to drive

BMW has sold more than 450,000 of the SUV-coupe mash-up genre. The X6 has something of a Jekyll and Hyde character in this range-topping version. It'll cruise remarkably quietly in Comfort mode, but carves corners with surprising urgency when you flick to Sport and get your toe in.

Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine

The X6 M50i is a hoot to drive, and thankfully, it's not an annoying performance-forward mess. On the only-sort-of-okay roads around Spartanburg, South Carolina, the X6 impresses with its smoothness. Safety equipment abounds, with standard kit including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist.

Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine
