The Panasonic Lumix S1R is a full-frame mirrorless camera with 47 Megapixels, built-in stabilisation and 4k 60p video. It’s one of two bodies launched by Panasonic as part of its new L-mount alliance with Leica and Sigma. Both bodies have 100% weather-sealing, dual card slots (XQQ), high resolution 576 Million dot viewers, articulated screens, 9 bursts in single AF or 6fps with continuous AF, and a fast flash sync speed.

Pros
  • Full-frame mirrorless with 47 Megapixels
  • Built-in stabilisation
  • 4K and 6K Photo modes
Cons
  • Not as fast as other full-frame cameras

Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
The Lumix S1 runs $2,500 for the body (about £1,910 or AU$3,440) It's the biggest full-frame mirrorless body I know of. It's even bigger and heavier than the Fujifilm GFX and Hasselblad X1D medium format cameras.

Pros
  • Bigger and heavier than the competition
  • High-resolution sensor
  • Improved autofocus and metering
Cons
  • Expensive compared to the competition

digitaltrends[3]

Reviewers from digitaltrends have found the following***:
Panasonic's in-camera processing is also quite good. Saturation and contrast are handled well, and JPEGs look fantastic right out of the camera. The Portrait profile does an excellent job rendering skin tones, with tonal gradations that are very difficult to recreate manually in post with the RAW file.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Excellent build quality
  • Excellent autofocus
  • Excellent image quality
Cons
  • Moiré in high resolution mode
  • No optical low pass filters

pcmag[4]

Reviewers from pcmag have found the following***:
At lower settings detail is very strong and noise isn't a concern. At ISO 25600 the JPG output takes a noticeable hit and details are blurred. In addition to standard JPG capture, the S1R can capture JPGs with wider dynamic range. The camera records internally at 8-bit 4:2:0 quality with H.264 compression.

Pros
  • High-resolution 47.3MP image capture
  • Excellent EVF
  • Solid ergonomics
Cons
  • Lackluster autofocus
  • Lack of lightweight lenses

techradar[5]

Reviewer score 83%
Reviewers from techradar have found the following***:
The S1R uses the same L mount that Leica has used for some of its previous models. Panasonic has been combining its sensor- and lens-based image stabilization systems for some time on its G-series models. It records 4K UHD footage at frame rates of up to 60/50p at 150MB/s. A range of profiles to allow for a better starting point for grading are also available.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • 5-axis stabilization
  • Excellent 4K UHD video
  • Excellent image stabilization
Cons
  • No V-Log shooting mode

trustedreviews[6]

Reviewer score 80%
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found the following***:
The Panasonic S1R is a great new option for pros looking for a high-resolution, full-frame mirrorless camera. Image quality is great too - special praise should go to the High Resolution mode, which looks like a real bonus for certain kinds of photographer. The L Mount Alliance means it does benefit from some existing lenses, but with many of those made by Leica, it’s not something for the budget-conscious. The only weak area is for moving subject photographers who are probably better served by cameras like the Sony A9.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Fantastic image quality
  • High resolution mode
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Bulky and heavy
  • L Mount Alliance is not for everyone

Too bulky
I was testing it out last year to see if I'm missing something, and I do - the weight. Somehow, Panasonic decided to make a mirrorless camera bigger and heavier than everyone else. The camera feels really solid and well-built, but all the weight and bulk don't help it produce any better image quality - it's good, but not better. To be honest, every camera can get you good results these days. The bulk is a choice, not a necessity.
