Reviewer score 89%
Reviewers from cameralabs have found the following***:
The Lumix S1 can record unlimited 4k up to 30p while power and memory remain, but how long can you expect in practice? The biggest limitation is 4K and 6K Photo use the movie focusing capabilities which aren’t as quick as those for stills in AFC. Panasonic’s done a great job with the controls and ergonomics, while being careful not to skip any key features expected at this level.

Pros
  • Full-frame sensor
  • Excellent image quality
  • Superb viewfinder
  • Great battery life
Cons

Reviewers from digitaltrends have found the following***:
The Lumix S1 can shoot 4K at 24 and 30 frames per second from the full width of the sensor. It can also produce in-camera slow motion using a high framerate mode. The one thing to watch out for with the S1 is moiré. Autofocus errors, as intermittent as they are, are a cause for concern.

Pros
  • Impressive image quality
  • High-resolution video
  • Compact design
Cons
  • No anti-aliasing filter
  • Moiré in slow-motion video

Reviewers from pcmag have found the following***:
The Panasonic Lumix DC-S1 is one of those cameras that will really appeal to video specialists. It offers 60fps capture at 4K, which is something we've not seen on full-frame cameras from other brands. It's on a slightly higher level than the Sony a7 III and the Nikon Z 6. The S1 delivers great image quality and includes a high-resolution mode.

Pros
  • Excellent image quality
  • Excellent in-body stabilization
  • 10-bit 4:2:2 video recording
  • Good battery life
Cons

Full HD videos can also be captured at a maximum 60p, although faster frame rates up to 180/150p are also available. 4K footage captured at 60/50p can be output in slow motion. There are two slots on the body, one for XQD cards and another for SDHC/SDXC cards.

trustedreviews[5]

Reviewers from trustedreviews have found the following***:
The Panasonic S1 is a superb camera: masterfully constructed, rich with features, and able to create stunning images. It can capture full resolution images at a continuous speed of 9fps, a significantly faster 30fps if you dial down the resolution to 6K (around 18-megapixels) or a frankly supercharged 60fps at 4K. I was also impressed by the S1’s battery life, which seems to go on and on. Panasonic says you’ll get around 400 shots out of a charge when shooting using normal settings.

Pros
  • Superb image stabilisation
  • Excellent video quality
  • Superb battery life
Cons
  • No autofocus
  • High price
