Summary

LG's UltraFine 24MD4KL is one of the few resolutely Mac-centric displays ever made by a third-party manufacturer. The 24-inch monitor boasts seamless compatibility with the MacBook Pro. It's a good choice if you have a Mac desktop setup and need a sharp, not-too-big display. However, ditching HDMI and DisplayPort means it is also a self-limiting model. This perhaps explains why LG is in no apparent rush to replace it.
This rundown provides our analysis on 8 third-party reviews. The sentiment scores, summaries, and key takeaways that we select are based on these reviews and may differ from the original publication.

Reviewers from pcmag have found the following[***]:
The LG UltraFine 4K Display (24MD4KL-B) has a lot to offer to Mac users. You control it directly from your Mac, using options in its Display dialog box. The settings you can tweak are more limited than with most monitors. You'll only want to go with this LG panel if your Mac and your peripherals are resolutely ready.

techradar[2]

Sentiment Score[*] 78%
Reviewers from techradar have found the following[***]:
The LG UltraFine 24MD4KL has a 24-inch, 3,840 x 2,160 display. It has a full DCI-P3 color gamut and shoots out 500 nits of brightness. The only ports on offer here are USB-C around the back. It's a shame that it doesn't let you fully control the orientation of the display.

trustedreviews[3]

Sentiment Score[*] 86%
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found the following[***]:
The LG UltraFine 4K Display defaults to Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution out of the box. As there are no external controls, there is no OSD (on-screen display) This is very much a monitor aimed solely at Apple customers. The lack of any DisplayPort or HDMI ports means it’s not the most versatile.

  • High-quality 4K display
  • Excellent colour accuracy
  • Solid build quality
