Product Overview

Apple Watch Series 6 comes with the new Blood Oxygen feature in a more colorful lineup. Available in aluminum or stainless steel, the Watch 6 comes in two sizes, 40 mm or 44 mm, like its predecessors. The latest watchOS 7 endows the new Watch many functional improvements.
The new Blood Oxygen sensor measures the oxygen saturation of the user's blood, with both on-demand and periodic measurements available.
The new dual-core processor in the Apple Watch 6 is based on the A13 Bionic chip in iPhone 11. It is 20% faster than its predecessor without sacrificing the battery life.

arstechnica[1]

Reviewer score 85%
Reviewers from arstechnica have found the following***:
The Apple Watch Series 6 is the best Apple Watch to track your health. The $200 Series 3 has the same hardware as the Series 6, but it's missing two key health tools: ECG and Sp2 monitors. For $200, the Series 3 is highly competitive with other fitness trackers like the Fitbit Versa.

Pros
  • Excellent health and fitness tracking
  • Excellent battery life
  • New watch faces are fun to customize
Cons
  • No third-party apps
  • No heart rate monitor

digitaltrends[2]

Reviewers from digitaltrends have found the following***:
The Apple Watch Series 6 is the best smartwatch you can buy. If you've never used a smartwatch connected to an iPhone before and are tempted, the Apple Watch is the only way to go. The only realistic contender if you don't plan to buy one is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, which beats smartwatches that have Google's Wear OS software.

Pros
  • Accurate ECG and SpO2 readings
  • Excellent battery life
  • Accurate GPS
  • Always-on screen
Cons
  • No water resistance

macworld[3]

Reviewer score 90%
Reviewers from macworld have found the following***:
The Apple Watch Series 6 is no doubt an expensive smartwatch, even if you stick to the cheapest option ($399 for the 40mm aluminum model with a silicone band) The Series 6 lasts about as long as every Apple Watch that came before, which is to say it'll get you through most days with moderate use. Apple has put a tremendous amount of effort into the design of each watch face.

Pros
  • Incredible battery life
  • Always-on display is fast and unobtrusive
  • Accurate sleep tracking
Cons
  • Slow charging
  • No third-party watch faces

notebookcheck[4]

Reviewer score 64%
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found the following***:
The Apple Watch Series 6 is capable of accurately measuring our heart frequency both when idle and working out. For the first time in the history of watchOS the new version 7 natively supports sleep tracking at night. However, when compared to sleep tracking data recorded by devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, the Fitbit Sense, or Honor/Huawei wearables Apple’s data is poor at best.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Excellent battery life
  • Accurate heart rate and blood oxygen readings
  • Compatible with Apple Health and Workout apps
Cons
  • Poor sleep tracking
  • Mediocre battery life

pcmag[5]

Reviewer score 88%
Reviewers from pcmag have found the following***:
The Apple Watch Series 6 has all the excellent health, safety, and lifestyle features of its predecessor. With more than 20,000 Apple Watch apps available, it easily has the largest, highest-quality third-party selection of any wearable. Apple plans to launch Fitness+, a $9.99 monthly or $79.99 yearly at-home fitness service.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Excellent health, safety, and lifestyle features
  • Bright, always-on display
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • Lacks a heart rate monitor or SpO2 sensor

t3[6]

Reviewer score 90%
Reviewers from t3 have found the following***:
The Apple Watch Series 6 keeps its place as the best smartwatch still. The gap is closing when it comes to health tech in particular, with some competing devices offering similar sensors for less. It's a really great device overall, and if you're looking at your first Apple Watch in particular and don't want to spend as much as the Series 6 costs, it's an extremely strong choice.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Excellent screen quality
  • Excellent health and fitness features
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No always-on display
  • No heart rate monitor

techadvisor[7]

Reviewer score 75%
Reviewers from techadvisor have found the following***:
The Apple Watch Series 6 has blood oxygen monitoring and sleep tracking. The U1 Ultra Wideband chip is exclusive to the Series 6: the SE doesn't have one. Sleep tracking is nothing more than a record of when you went to bed and woke up. With their longer battery life, Fitbits are much more adept at sleep tracking, although you lose Apple's better app choice when choosing Fitbit.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Better battery life than the Series 6
  • New U1 Ultra Wideband chip
  • Improved sleep tracking
Cons
  • Sleep tracking isn’t as good as Apple’s

techradar[8]

Reviewer score 72%
Reviewers from techradar have found the following***:
The watchOS 7 operating system is built on a system that packs lots of useful (and some not-so-useful) functionality at its heart. Hand-washing feature apparently wasn't created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, but its presence on the Apple Watch 6 is useful for reminding you to wash your hands. When it works, it's brilliant, enabling you to instantly set a timer, find out what song is playing, call a friend, or turn off a light in your smart home.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Lots of useful features
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • Siri isn’t very responsive
  • No cellular data

tomsguide[9]

Reviewers from tomsguide have found the following***:
The Apple Watch 6 uses SpO2 sensors to monitor blood oxygen levels. The watchOS 7 update adds Dance, Functional Strength Training, Core Training and Cool Down activity tracking. Watch face sharing is neat, although I’m not getting close enough to anyone these days to see (and steal) their screen.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Slim, slim design
  • SpO2 monitor is easy to use
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No ECG support
  • Not as intuitive as the Apple Watch 5

trustedreviews[10]

Reviewers from trustedreviews have found the following***:
This is the top-spec Apple Watch and it has all the bells and whistles. You get things like the Always-On display and the SpO2 sensor. Apple Watch 6 is the only member of the family to come in blue or red casing colours. It ties so well with the Apple ecosystem, so if you’re an Apple Music subscriber or want to get into Fitness Plus then this is a great pick.

Pros
  • Great battery life
  • Always-On display is great
Cons
  • No third-party watch faces
  • No wireless charging
