The ThinkPad X13 G2 is a major update with a new chassis, updated CPUs and new 16:10 aspect ratio screens. Our review unit uses the familiar Tiger Lake processor Core i7-1165G7 (UP3) with a maximum clock of 4.7 GHz for one core or up to 4.1 GHz when you stress all four cores (8 threads) The performance is also decent and ahead of all other Intel based rivals.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 is for organizations who want the classic ThinkPad experience without a premium price tag. This compact business laptop is a fine choice to populate large fleets where reliability and security are more important than ultralight carbon-fiber chassis or other C-suite bells and whistles. It's very good, but not quite as stunning as the multiple Editors' Choice award-winning Think Pad X1 Carbon.
