Reviewers from pcmag have found the following***:
The SRS-XB13 is compatible with Bluetooth 4.2, and supports AAC and SBC codecs. Sony estimates battery life to be roughly 16 hours, but your results will vary with your volume levels. The passive radiator does a good job in its supporting role, adding a sense of richness and resonance.

Pros
  • Powerful audio performance with rich lows and crisp highs
  • Compatible with Bluetooth 4.2 and AAC and SBC codecs
  • Built-in speakerphone mic
Cons
  • Bass isn’t as powerful as subwoofer

rtings[2]

Reviewer score 37%
Reviewers from rtings have found the following***:
The Sony SRS-XB13 has a balanced mid-range that ensures vocals and lead instruments sound clear and present in the mix. Like most small speakers, it struggles to reproduce low-bass, so you can't feel the thump and rumble in bass-heavy music. It doesn't get very loud and downmixes stereo content to mono, which may not sound as immersive.

Pros
  • Outstanding directivity
  • Stable, balanced mid-range
  • Excellent directivity, especially for music
  • Superb audio reproduction
Cons
  • Lacks low-bass
  • Doesn't get very loud
  • No sound customization features

techhive[3]

Reviewers from techhive have found the following***:
Sony's $60 SRS-XB13 compact Bluetooth speaker is one of the best-sounding, monophonic personal speakers I've run across. It's not overly loud, but the naturalists will thank you for that. The midrange is nicely defined, and there's enough high end that nothing sounds choked or smothered.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • IP67 rated
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No stereo reproduction

techradar[4]

Reviewer score 68%
Reviewers from techradar have found the following***:
The Sony SRS-XB13 is one of the best-sounding ultra-portable speakers. There's a focus on the mid-range that makes vocals very easy to hear. The single worst aspect of the speaker is the built-in microphone. If you're looking for room-filling sound, you'll have to upgrade to one of Sony's new party speakers.

Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Great sound quality
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • No stereo separation
  • No built-in microphone
