Product Overview

Nikon Coolpix B600 is an entry-level 1/2.3" compact camera with a large zoom range. Introduced by Nikon in 2019, it comes with a 1/2.3" sensor with 16 MP (4608 x 3456) resolution.
The camera has a poor battery life, and a second or third battery may be needed to get you through the day. One should note that the Nikon Coolpix B600 has a 125 base ISO, which is not conducive to getting the cleanest images.
Those who intend to use the Nikon Coolpix B600 for video work will be glad to find that the camera comes with 3 stops of IBIS. Nikon has endowed this compact camera with a 60x zoom lens, which can be quite useful for travels. Last but not least, the camera can focus quite close to the subject.

The Nikon COOLPIX B600 is a DSLR-styled 'bridge' super-zoom camera. It upgrades the 40x range of the earlier B500 with a longer 60x 24-1440mm zoom lens. It features Snapbridge which auto downloads 2 Megapixel photos to your phone in the background while you shoot using a Bluetooth connection. The B600 fills a niche for novice shooters who want stonking capability with simple hassle-free operation.

The Nikon Coolpix B600 doesn't offer any sort of manual ISO control. The lens does deliver sharp results, netting 2,217 lines on a center-weighted test. There is a bit of loss of quality toward the edge of the frame. The stabilization system does as good as job as you can expect.

  • Easy to use
  • Intuitive controls
  • Good image quality
Cons

Reviewers from rtings have found the following***:
The Nikon COOLPIX B600 is inadequate for travel photography. It can't shoot RAW images, and shutter speed and aperture can't be changed manually. Its autofocus system also struggles to maintain focus on moving subjects. It's incapable of recording 4k video and can't record FHD video at any other frame rate aside from 30 fps.
