The Galaxy S20 FE retains a lot of the premium features found in its more expensive siblings. You get a flat 6.5-inch OLED screen with 32-MP hole-punch selfie camera up front, triple cams in back, and a USB-C port down below. The only miss is that while some manufacturers are still equipping their more affordable handsets with a headphone jack.

laptopmag[4]

Sentiment Score[*] 83%
Reviewers from Laptopmag have found the following[***]:
The Galaxy S20 FE starts and ends at $699; unlike most smartphone offerings from Samsung, there is no upsell for more storage or RAM. Despite the relatively basic design, Samsung has done an excellent job at making a design that is easy to use, comfortable in the hand, and does just enough to stand out. While it doesn't feature the latest and greatest Snapdragon processor, it gets the same powerful Snapdragon 865 found in the rest of Samsung's 2020 lineup.

Pros[**]
  • Super-smooth 120Hz display
  • Excellent battery life
  • Strong performance

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G fills a gap in the Galaxy-S20 Portfolio. The 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display has a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels (FHD+) and delivers a very smooth display thanks to its 120 Hz refresh rate. With an average of 721.1cd/², the display of the Galaxy S10 5G shines very brightly and is not a bit inferior to its relatives.

Sentiment Score[*] 80%
Reviewers from Techadvisor have found the following[***]:
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has the same design ideology as the rest of the S20 range. But there are plenty of small differences in design that make it stand out on its own. Samsung has tried to make up for it by offering more of a curved rear than the standard S20. The main 12Mp cameras are embedded within the rear of the phone.

techradar[8]

Sentiment Score[*] 82%
Reviewers from Techradar have found the following[***]:
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition was launched on September 23, 2020, and became available to buy on October 2. At $699 / £699 / AU$1,149 (for the 5G model) it's certainly more affordable than the base-model S20, but it's still pricier than many other phones with similar features and specs. Buy this if you're committed to the Samsung line and want something more than a Galaxy A-series phone – but know that you could get a similarly specced phone from a Chinese brand for half the price.

Pros[**]
  • High screen refresh rate
  • Wide variety of colors
  • Decent battery life
Cons[**]
  • Nothing in particular

Sentiment Score[*] 86%
Reviewers from Trustedreviews have found the following[***]:
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) is available now for £599 (4G, Exynos 990) and £699 for the 5G Snapdragon model. The FE retains an OLED panel with a small cutout at the top for the front camera, however it tops out at FHD+ rather than WQHD+ like on the S20. The main 12MP sensor takes some great snaps which shouldn't come as a surprise as it's a camera we've seen multiple times before. Samsung has also indicated you'll get three years of system updates, starting with Android 11.

Pros[**]
  • Super-smooth 120Hz screen
  • Great battery life
  • Great cameras
Cons[**]
  • Not as good as the S20 Plus
