The Dell Alienware AW3420DW is an impressive ultrawide gaming monitor with a stylish design and native G-SYNC support. With a 1440p resolution, images are delivered with great detail, but the monitor's low contrast ratio and sub-par black uniformity make it hard to recommend for dark room viewing. The LG has a higher refresh rate, a significantly higher peak brightness, as well as much better viewing angles. The Acer has a smaller screen and a 16:9 aspect ratio, but a much sharper 4k resolution.

It also brings with it attractive RGB lighting and easy-to-use menus. However, this gaming monitor does cost $1,499 (about £1,160, AU$2,200)
