On the fast track to electromobility: 10,000 fully-electric MINIs* registered in Germany in 2021
“In 2021, we delivered a total of 10,140 MINI Electric (MINI Cooper SE)* vehicles to customers – that means there are already nearly 15,000 fully-electric MINI models on German roads”: The head of MINI Germany, Ulrike von Mirbach, is delighted about reaching this milestone on the road to electromobility. She presented the 10,000th MINI to its new owner, Andreas Hankel, at BMW Welt on 30 Dec. 2021, alongside Bernd Körber, head of MINI, Bernhard Kuhnt, head of Market Germany and Erwin Winterholler, managing director of the Widmann & Winterholler showroom. The MINI Electric is the MINI family’s highest-volume derivative and played a key role for the brand in 2021, delivering growth of +132%.

Full Speed Ahead: Ford Planning To Nearly Double All-Electric F-150 Lightning Production To 150,000 Units Annually; First Wave Of Reservation Holders Invited To Order
DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 4, 2022 – Ford Motor Company said today it is planning to nearly double production of the F-150 Lightning™ pickup at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn to 150,000 trucks per year to meet high demand for the first all-electric version of America’s best-selling vehicle, the F-Series. “With nearly 200,000 reservations, our teams are working hard and creatively to break production constraints to get more F-150 Lightning trucks into the hands of our customers,” said Kumar Galhotra, president of The Americas & International Markets Group, Ford Motor Company. Ford is working with key suppliers – as well as with its own manufacturing facilities Rawsonville Components Plant and Van Dyke Electric Powertrain Center – to find ways to increase capacity of electric vehicle parts, including battery cells, battery trays and electric drive systems.

Toyota Motor North America Reports U.S. December, Year-End 2021 Sales
PLANO, Texas (Jan. 4, 2022) – Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) today reported December U.S. 2021 sales of 174,115 vehicles, a decrease of 30.2 percent on a volume basis and down 27.7 percent on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis compared to December 2020. For calendar year 2021, TMNA reported U.S. sales of 2,332,262 vehicles, an increase of 10.4 percent on a volume basis and an increase of 11.5 percent on a DSR basis. For the year, Toyota reported U.S. sales of 2,027,786 vehicles, up 10.3 percent on a volume basis and up 11.4 percent on a DSR basis.
